Process

How it works

Four steps from the broken part on your desk to a new one in your hand. No CAD file needed.

01 / The four steps

The four steps

You get a firm price before we start. Nothing is charged until you say yes.

Send the part or a drawing

Drop the broken part off, ship it to us, or upload a fully dimensioned engineering drawing. A photo of the part gets you a quote, but we build from the part itself or from an engineering drawing, not from a sketch.

We measure and model

We measure your part with calipers and gauges, note where it broke and why, and build a model from it. If you sent an engineering drawing, we work straight from that.

We print and test fit

We pick the material for the heat, oil, coolant and load the part sees, and print it with the layers running the right way for the load. We check it against the original before it leaves.

You get the part

You pick it up or we ship it, with your original in the same box. We keep the model on file, so a reorder is simple: call or email with the job and we make another.

02 / Get your part to us

Three ways to get the part to us

Parts up to about 12 inches (300 mm) in any direction. Bigger? Ask, some parts can be made in sections.

Drop it off

Spotswood, NJ
Call or email first and we send you the drop-off address. On line-down jobs we will be ready.

Ship it

Call or email us for the shipping address. Put your name and phone number in the box. We ship the new part and your original back together.

Upload the drawing

A fully dimensioned engineering drawing (PDF or CAD) means we never need the part at all. Upload it with your quote request.

What we need from you

  • The part, or an engineering drawing with the dimensions on it.
  • What the part does and where it broke.
  • The hottest it gets, and any oil, coolant or chemicals it sees.
  • Where the force comes from, if it carries a load.
  • How many you need and when you need them.

Timing

We tell you the date when we quote. Need it sooner? Ask about a rush fee.

Your original

It always comes back to you, in the same box as the new part.
